Pink Goes Perfectly with Green!

Universal Pictures International Germany GmbH, a company of Universal Pictures International, brings the film productions of Universal Studios to the big screen in Germany. In November 2025, the long-awaited finale of the WICKED film series will celebrate its theatrical premiere. To build excitement among fans, the production team set out to create a large-scale, magical highlight – a production designed to make the anticipation for the film truly tangible.

Idea & Implementation:

Pink Meets Green! – this iconic color code symbolizes the two famous witches of Oz: Glinda and Elphaba. It represents friendship, unity, and the power of opposites – perfectly fitting the theme of the Festival of Lights 2025: “Let’s Shine Together.”

Even before the festival began, the film team and the Festival of Lights launched a joint teaser campaign: Where in Berlin would Glinda and Elphaba appear? Fans eagerly speculated – and guessed right. The choice fell on the Oberbaum Bridge, one of Berlin’s most famous landmarks, a symbol of East-West connection and a metaphor for duality – just like the extraordinary friendship between the two witches.

With a spectacular projection and the voice of Ariana Grande, who plays Glinda in the film, the Oberbaum Bridge transformed each evening during the festival into a magical stage that enchanted Berlin.

Success:

The WICKED: Part 2 installation attracted major media attention and became one of the most popular photo motifs of the festival. The early collaboration between Universal Pictures and the Festival of Lights resulted in a successful teaser campaign that achieved enormous reach across social media, actively engaged the fan community, and noticeably increased excitement for the theatrical release.
