TAYLOR SWIFT: THE LIFE OF A SHOWGIRL

Universal Music Germany celebrated the historic success of Taylor Swift, who broke every chart record with her new album The Life of a Showgirl. To properly showcase this triumph and honor the extraordinary artist’s one-of-a-kind career, Universal Music planned a visual highlight that would shine far beyond the realm of music – right in the heart of Berlin, at the Festival of Lights 2025.

Implementation:

Few artists embody transformation, creativity, and the art of storytelling on the big stage quite like Taylor Swift. The Festival of Lights captured exactly that magic: under the motto “Let’s Shine Together,” Berlin’s iconic TV Tower was illuminated in a breathtaking sea of lights – inspired by Taylor’s “Showgirl” era.

The projection featured iconic imagery from the album – sparkling stage designs, dynamic colors, and the stylized silhouette of the artist – accompanied by her latest hit. The installation brought Taylor Swift’s cultural impact to life: her music and messages long ago transcended pop, making her a global symbol of empowerment, creativity, and the unifying power of art.

Success:

The Taylor Swift installation quickly became the viral highlight of the festival, dominating social media. The iconic image of the glowing Berlin TV Tower spread at lightning speed – accompanied by her new song, which became the soundtrack to countless fan videos.

During the festival, hundreds of Swifties gathered around Alexanderplatz to witness the spectacle live, share photos, and sing together – a spontaneous, emotional happening that vividly showcased the passion and unity of her fanbase.

Media outlets, brands, and partners also picked up the story, celebrating the project as a cultural event that uniquely blended music, light art, and pop culture. With that, Berlin became the epicenter of the global Swiftie community during the Festival of Lights – a shining symbol of art’s power to connect generations.
