THF / Tempelhof Projekt GmbH

The former Tempelhof Central Airport is Europe’s largest historic monument and a place with an impressive history. Today, it stands as a living monument – a symbol of change, openness, and new ideas. While ongoing renovation work secures the architectural future, the airport is already open to visitors from around the world and aims to raise public awareness of this openness.

Idea & Implementation:

The THF Tower is one of the first fully accessible renovated sections and offers visitors an unforgettable experience. To showcase the architecture and the fascinating history of the site in a compelling way, the THF team commissioned the Festival of Lights to bring its expertise in emotional storytelling and large-scale visual productions.

A spectacular video mapping show on the THF Tower told the story of this iconic location – from the legendary Berlin Airlift to sustainable visions for the Berlin of tomorrow.

Success:

The installation at the THF Tower became a standout highlight of the festival. By combining emotional storytelling, large-scale projection and architectural staging, it successfully connected the history and future of Tempelhof Airport in a captivating way. The light installation attracted numerous visitors, generated strong media attention and sent a clear signal about the transformation of this historic site.
